A single dove (the spirit dove) is usually held by a loved one as the main flock is released. A
few seconds later the spirit dove is released. The guests are comforted yet awe struck as they see the single bird
fly to catch the flock, symbolizing the spirit ascending to heaven. This is usually done with a musical accompaniment
